In May of 1895, the most dazzling man of letters of the nineteenth century was sentenced to two years with hard labour for \u2018acts of gross indecency with another male person.\u2019 On his release he moved to France, where he wrote the Ballad: an anguished plea for prison reform, and a passionate expression of sympathy for his fellow prisoners, those \u201Csouls in pain\u201D. Oscar Wilde\u2019s The Ballad of Reading Gaol was a success from its first publication, and to this day some of its lines are among the most famous in the English language. In this powerfully illustrated edition Two Rivers Press presents Wilde\u2019s Ballad alongside Peter Hay\u2019s original images and adds a specially-commissioned Afterword by Peter Stoneley which draws on unpublished material in the prison archives.

Refunds
Sellers have to offer a refund for certain items only if they are faulty, such as: Personalised items and custom-made items, Perishable items, Newspapers and magazines, Unwrapped CDs DVDs and computer software. If you used your PayPal balance or bank account to fund the original payment, the refunded money will go back to your PayPal account balance. If you used a credit or debit card to fund the original payment, the refunded money will go back to your card. The seller will effect the refund within three working days but it may take up to 30 days for Paypal to process the transfer.
