The Yardbirds Black/Light Jeff Beck Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop - 180 Gram 2018 Uk Vinyl Lp
JEFF BECK, TERRY BOZIO & TONY HYMAS Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop (2018 UK/EU 9-track LP pressed on 180-gram audiophile Black Vinyl. Guitar Shop is the fifth studio album from one of rock's most influential lead guitarists, recorded with keyboardist Tony Hymas and drummer Terry Bozzio, an all-instrumental fusion record that moves across more musical styles than any other album in Beck's catalogue. "Behind the Veil" leans into a reggae groove built around Beck's lower-register playing, while "Where Were You" finds him using pioneering bent-harmonic technique to make the guitar nearly sing the melody, a track Beck himself later called "probably the best thing I ever wrote," describing it as a genuine turning point in his playing. The album won the Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, Beck's second consecutive win in that category following 1985's Flash, and "Sling Shot" was later featured in the 1990 film Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
