A re-imagining of the Lindores Abbey Distillery’s signature MCDXCIV release, 1494 captures the distillery’s origin story in a glass. Its name references the year of the earliest written record of Scotch Whisky, in which Friar John Cor, a monk at Lindores Abbey, was commissioned by James IV of Scotland to distil Aqua Vitae. The whisky itself is crafted from barley grown in the fields once tended by the historical abbey’s monks, distilled through the distillery’s distinctive twin spirit stills and matured in a mixture of bourbon, STR red wine and oloroso sherry casks before being bottled onsite. A spirit reborn in the Kingdom of Fife. Presented at 46% abv without artificial colour or chill-filtration.
