✔️ CANNOT WORK ON ITS OWN - The Amplicall 140 is the wireless sound detector of a home alert system designed by Geemarc for the hearing and visually impaired. When this device’s built-in microphone detects a sound, it sends a signal to a receiver (Amplicall 100 or 150) that can in turn alert you with a 90dB loud alarm and bright flashing lights that a sound, such as the crying of a baby, has been detected and that your attention is needed. If you are wondering how loud that alarm really is, think that the sound made by a hairdryer is usually measured at around 90dB as well. ✔️ COMES WITH A SOUND VIBRATION DETECTOR - The Amplicall 140 is supplied with what is called a piezo, a small device that is able to detect the vibrations travelling sounds create. This allows you to use the Amplicall 140 to detect short-lived sounds coming from specific devices. If you live in an apartment, you can for instance put the piezo against your intercom so as to be alerted by the Amplicall 150’s extra loud alarm and built-in shaker that someone is at your building’s entrance door. Placed right by a timer, it could also be used to let you know that your cake now needs to be taken out of the oven! ✔️ EMERGENCY BUTTON - You have the possibility of pressing on the Amplicall 140’s emergency button to activate the alarm, the flashing lights, and shaker of the receiver(s) it is paired with (Amplicall 100 and 150). We can thus imagine a scenario where a person with reduced mobility presses on the Amplicall 140’s emergency button to activate the portable Amplicall 150 receiver that someone else in the house is carrying, so as to signal that he or she needs assistance. ✔️ COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVICES - The Amplicall range, which the Amplicall 140 is part of, also includes the Amplicall 101, which can either be worn as an SOS pendant or used as a powerful doorbell that lets you know when you have visitors, and the Amplicall 110, a landline phone ringer amplifier that alerts you when you have an incoming call. Those three devices cannot communicate with one another, but they can all be paired with the same two signal receivers, the Amplicall 100 and 150, to form a larger and versatile home alert system. ✔️ CAN WORK ON BATTERIES - The Amplicall 140 can either be powered by two AA batteries (not included), or be plugged directly into the mains (cable included). ✔️ OTHER TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS - Our sound detector is both wall and desk mountable. Refunds
